In Reply To Could be a failed master or slave cylinder. posted by Evan_Wright (Ca) on May 12, 2012 at 08:15 PM

Message The slave is only a couple years old and I believe the master was replaced shortly before I bought the car in 2007. Also, there is no fluid leaking by the pedal on the inside which would indicate the seal going bad.

Here is the status as of now:

1) Fluid is not leaking at all
2) All air has been properly bled from the system
3) Clutch pedal adjustment cannot be adjusted enough to force it to change gears
4) There is slight play in the fork when trying to move it by hand. It moves a few millimeters and does not have direct contact with the slave piston at all times (again, not sure if this is normal in the OFF position)
5) Slave piston does move the fork but I'm not sure if it is moving it enough or not
6) No fluid leaking on the inside by the pedal so master cylinder should be okay

I just re-adjusted my clutch pedal a small amount. I started it up to see if it did anything. If in neutral, I can shift into 3rd and 4th. It's not very smooth but it will still go in with a little effort. Everything else is a loss.

Never Play Leapfrog With A Unicorn!!!

Do yourself a favor and just worry about your own car. I don't see what everyone is so worried about anyway. If someone else wants to perform a modification that you believe will destroy the value, cheapen the Z32 or whatever you can't sit on your hands about, wouldn't that make your tastefully-modified, white bread Z32 more rare and valuable? -- BradZ (FL) on December 23, 2007 at 12:19 PM
